Ekpo led a team of officer to reclaim Police land at Morogbo area of Badagry that was sold to unsuspecting members of the public by some land grabbers. Lagos state police spokesperson, Dolapo Badmos, a Superintendent of Police said that the ACP had gone for a swimming exercise when the sad incident occurred. She said: “Yes, we lost ACP Ekpo, the Area Commander, Area K Command. He was exercising in a swimming pool when he died.”
In another development, the inspector-general of police (IGP), Solomon Arase has linked the recent attacks by herdsmen on farmlands and communities in the country to the porous state of Nigerian borders.
The police boss stated this during the weekend at an interactive session with stakeholders on community policing in Akure, Ondo state. Arase stated that most troublesome herdsmen were foreigners who entered the country with their cattle unleashing mayhem on innocent citizens of Nigeria.
